Frances’s Bio

Frances Tyler headed Publications at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution for nearly three decades and then became their strategic planning officer.

She holds master’s degrees from Oxford University (St. Hilda’s College, English Language and Literature, 1974) and the Wharton School (Business Administration, 1992). She has lived in Washington, DC, for almost fifty years and shares her late husband’s fondness for cats.
